Anoushka Sinha is a globally awarded social entrepreneur and a Forbes 30 Under 30 and Economic Times 40 Under 40 recognised activist championing human rights.She has been advocating for gender, education equality and climate justice since she was 10 years old.
She started her journey by organizing campaigns at local NGOs, at the age of 12 she began working as a radio jockey and ran three seasons of her own radio show aimed towards children in rural India.
She then went on to lead and serve as an ambassador for UNEP, and youth advisor at UNICEF and the youngest Steering Committee Member for UNESCO's Global Youth Community the GYC, and has worked and advised UNDP, UN Women, UNESCO SDG4 Youth Network among other international multilateral organisations and charities and has worked for various humanitarian organizations like the ONE campaign and Plan International. She currently serves as an advocate for the UN Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund as well the youngest appointed advisor to the World Bank Group's S4YE.
From experiencing abuse, gender based violence firsthand to losing her father early on as a teen to being pressured to be married in a male dominant society Anoushka has persevered.She has upheld her fight to advocate fiercely for gender injustice and education since then has continued paving the way for many young leaders like her to get the tools to pursue education and has empowered youth globally to become self sufficient and educated through her advocacy, mentorship and activism.
Her journey has taught her fearlessness, resilience and an undying desire to bridge the gap, dismantle barriers for women and girls globally.
Anoushka's advocacy and impact has been recognised worldwide for her impact and her recognitions include the Diana Award which is the highest accolade a young person can receive for their social advocacy,presented to her by the Royal Family in UK,Anoushka has also been awarded as one of the top 50 leaders by Asia Square and Financial Times, she's also a Plan International Award Winner For Last Mile Champion For Rights For Women and an Exemplary Reform Leader by The World Bank.
She has been awarded by the UN Foundation as a Feminist Icon and Spotlight Awardee, recognised by KidsRights Changemakers, PeaceFirst and has been named among one of the few teens to be featured on NASDAQ for breaking the glass ceiling for girls in STEM, A Points Of Light Honor Roll inductee by former US president George W Bush she is also one of the youngest fellows to be ever elected into the Royal Society of Arts, London, she is also a part of the Forbes Women network.
She continues to be a fierce advocate for children and women and continues to lead the change for young people around the world.
